Sacramento City College
The Sacramento City Performing Arts Center is a 1930’s era theater, updated to include the latest theatrical lighting, rigging and sound control, improvements to acoustics and sight lines, and the addition of an orchestra pit. The transformation, while maintaining the historic art deco flavor of the original architecture, is designed to greatly advance teaching and learning in the areas of the arts, music, theater and graphic arts. Three state-of-the-art performance/learning venues as well as 21st century learning environments for theatrical support technologies, disciplines and arts complete the renovation. New and updated administrative support spaces have also been woven into the fabric of the facility. In addition to the vastly improved learning and teaching environment, the completed renovation expands Sacramento City College’s ability to host events and performances in an optimal environment that is sure to enrich the audience’s experience of the performing arts.
